From Author Dawn DeAnna Wilson: book as a haiku?
As a part of this Orangeberry Summer Splash virtual book tour (and a chance to win a free Kindle, btw---if you are on Twitter, hash tags are #OBSummer #Books) one of the participating authors had the great idea of summarizing one of our books in a haiku (three-line Japanese poetry form of 5-7-5 syllables.)
Brilliant idea---I decided to give it a try for my novel I'm promoting, "Ten Thousand New Year's Eves."
The world explodes with
color in strange places, I
look up; no one sees
It's much harder than it looks, and I'm still not thrilled with my version. There are a lot of other great haikus at his site:
